SURFACE PREPARATION & SAFETY
Surface preparation is crucial for a the adhesion and longevity of the surface receiving the paint or coating. All surfaces are inspected and prepared before any coating is applied. Surface preparation is the most important phase of any paint project and is the most effective at promoting better
adhesion of paints and coatings. Sub standard surface preparation and excessive moisture are two of the major factors to paint failures. All surfaces, interior or exterior, painted or unpainted should be free of dust, dirt loose paint or any bond breakers for new paint to adhere soundly. Prepare rusted areas by sand blasting, wire brushing and neutralization with rust converters and or encapsulate with rust converting primer before applying intermediate primers, paints or protective coatings. The conditions will dictate how much effort is required to obtain a paint ready surface. Our painters are trained in working with swing stages, aerial lifts, scaffolding and ladders needed in accessing any area in your facility and completing the task safely.
